Functional literacy was also taught to the women. The result of this capacity building programmes have been so effective that 14 village presidents 21 ward members and 15 union councilors have been the bye-products of our training programmes. More over, the dalit and other women have unequivocally ascertained their equal rights and they no longer consider themselves as inferior citizens. The physical harassment from the husbands has been considerably reduced as women sanghas have been formed in most of the villages. In all, the women have been trained to take care of themselves against the abuse and exploitation within their family and outside their family.
